The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons developed a program aiming to standardize residency education, according to a March 22 news release.
Four things to know:
1. The Resident Orthopaedic Core Knowledge Program is designed to provide a baseline of core foundational knowledge.
2. The program includes 488 chapters, more than 500 authors, 500 videos and more than 3,000 exam chapters.
3. The AAOS completed a pilot program in 2021 and launched with full enrollment in March.
4. The program aligns with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery's board certification exam.
