CMS granted an outpatient code for Stryker's InSpace balloon implant, the devicemaker said April 11.
InSpace is used for massive irreparable rotator cuff tears and is designed to restore the subacromial space and is a less invasive option than fixation devices or grafts.
The CMS code will cover outpatient hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. The decision was based on findings from a trial affirming the safety and effectiveness of the implant, the release said.
