Alexander Meininger, MD, will give a commencement speech later this spring for the University of Colorado Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology.
Dr. Meininger is an alumnus of the Boulder-based university and has become a renowned figure in the orthopedic field, according to an April 28 news release. Recently, he debuted the bridge-enhanced anterior cruciate ligament repair procedure in Colorado.
"I am thrilled to be selected to give the commencement address at my alma mater this year," he said in the release. "As a physician, and a scientist interested in advancing the field of orthopedic surgery, I am excited to send these future graduates out into the world to go and do great things."
He is a managing partner at Steamboat Orthopaedic & Spine Institute in Steamboat Springs, Colo., and has practiced in the city since 2012.
