$9M investment bolsters New England Baptist Orthopedic program

Orthopedic

Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, Mass., has opened two new operating rooms that increase the surgical capacity of its New England Baptist Orthopedic program, The Daily News reported June 6.

The $9 million project took more than a year to complete and included $4.2 million in donations from the community, according to the report. The expansion also included a new entrance and helipad.

"The state-of-the-art space, larger rooms and new technology will allow us to serve more patients who choose to have their surgery performed close to home, whether it is a biopsy, joint replacement or outpatient surgery for hand, foot and ankle procedures," Glenn Focht, MD, CMO at Anna Jaques Hospital, told the publication.

The New England Baptist Orthopedics Program, established in 2019, was developed by Anna Jaques Hospital, its affiliated physicians and Boston-based New England Baptist Hospital.
