Chicago-based Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush has been named the top orthopedic program in Illinois on U.S. News & World Report's 2022-23 list.
Rush was also ranked fifth best in the country for orthopedic surgery, up from sixth in 2021.
"I am so proud that for the tenth consecutive year, our orthopedic group has been nationally recognized by our peers and our patients for its continued dedication to improving patient outcomes from near and far that seek expert, personalized care," Brian Cole, MD, the managing partner of Midwest Orthopedics at Rush, said in a July 27 press release.
Criteria in the ranking included reputation, survival, patient safety and patient volume.
"We are honored that our physicians and research department have been recognized for their amazing research on innovations that minimize pain and shorten recovery times for our patients, while also assuming impactful leadership positions as chosen by our peers," said Dr. Cole.
Several orthopedic physicians at Rush also serve as team doctors for the Chicago White Sox, the Chicago Bulls and the Chicago Fire.
