Philadelphia-based Rothman Orthopaedic Institute and CarePoint Health have cemented a 10-year partnership that will create an orthopedic Center of Excellence at Hoboken (N.J.) University Medical Center and Christ Hospital in Jersey City, expanding their partnership that began in March 2021.
Rothman has 14 practice operations in New Jersey, including a new Hudson County facility. Physicians from this location will staff key programs that include an arthroplasty center.
CarePoint and Rothman Orthopaedics are also in talks to develop a spine center and a multispecialty outpatient facility that caters to patients in Hudson County, Achintya Moulick, MD, president and CEO of CarePoint, said in an Aug. 1 news release shared with Becker's.
By having a greater presence in Hudson County and partnership with CarePoint, Rothman Orthopaedics will be able to recruit the "best of the best, fellowship-trained surgeons" from Yale University in New Haven, Conn., and other prestigious programs in the area, Rothman CEO Christopher Olivia said.
Alex Vaccaro, MD, PhD, president of Rothman Orthopaedics, said in the release his practice has a great ability to "recruit top talent," and its "North Jersey expansion attracted an abundance of top-trained orthopedic applicants."
Rothman Orthopaedics expects to have an initial six surgeons and two nonoperative physicians hired for Hudson County. They will specialize in spine surgery, joint replacement, hand and wrist, foot and ankle, and shoulder and elbow.
