On the heels of a strong start to its robotic joint replacement program, Traverse City, Mich.-based Munson Healthcare opened an orthopedic institute, Traverse City Record Eagle reported Sept. 29.

The Munson Healthcare Orthopedic Institute, in Traverse City, is close to Munson Medical Center and is expected to improve access to robotic joint replacement in the region. Michael VanWagner, DO, Peter McAndrews, DO, and Matthew Dubiel, MD, work at the clinic.

The health system added the Rosa robot for joint replacement in September 2021 and used it in more than 125 cases in the first nine months, the report said.
