Here are 12 orthopedic surgeons who moved to new practices or added to their titles since Nov. 10:

- Matthew Halanski, MD, was named division chief of orthopedics and sports medicine at Phoenix Children's. In his role, Dr. Halanski will lead the Herbert J. Louis Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine.
- HCA Florida Northwest Hospital in Margate selected Nathaniel Thomas, DO, as a new surgeon for its orthopedic program. Dr. Thomas has expertise in adult hip and knee reconstruction.
- WishBone Medical named Mark Figgie, MD, as its interim CEO. Dr. Figgie, a joint replacement specialist at New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery, replaces WishBone co-founders Nick Deeter and Mary Wetzel as CEO and president.
- The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colo., selected Sonny Gill, MD, an orthopedic spine surgeon, to join its surgical team. Dr. Gill spent more than a decade with Medical Group of the Carolinas in both Greer and Greenville, S.C., where he built a spine center that was recognized by U.S. News & World Report for its excellence in spinal fusion surgery. Dr. Gill will work alongside scientists and researchers at Steadman Philippon Research Institute in addition to his role on the surgical team.
- Selene Parekh, MD, a foot and ankle orthopedic surgeon with Duke University and Davis ASC in Durham, N.C., is leaving North Carolina to join Philadelphia-based Rothman Orthopedic Institute. Dr. Parekh will work in the Northeast Philadelphia and Princeton, N.J., regions.
- Orthopedic surgeon Daniel Alexander, MD, was named chief administrative officer at Auburn (N.Y.) Community Hospital. He joined Auburn Orthopedic Specialists in October and has more than 20 years of experience. He will continue his orthopedic practice alongside his new role. As chief administrative officer, he will help plan, implement and evaluate medical care at this hospital and affiliated practices.
- Douglas Dirschl, MD, will be chair of orthopedics at Houston-based Baylor College of Medicine effective April 1. Dr. Dirschl will join the school from the University of Chicago, where he is chair of orthopedic surgery. He succeeds William Granberry, MD, who was interim orthopedic chair at Baylor.
- OrthoCincy Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Edgewood, Ky., added three physicians to its team: joint reconstruction and replacement surgeon Shankar Narayanan, MD, spine surgeon Benjamin Valley, MD, and orthopedic surgeon Scott Jolson, MD.
- Atlanta-based Resurgens Orthopaedics hired orthopedic surgeon Nimit Lad, MD, and physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist Michael Schaufele, MD.
