Medical device company Lazurite was commended by the Medical Device Network Excellence Awards & Rankings for its ArthroFree system, the first FDA-cleared wireless camera for arthroscopy and general endoscopy.
All companies commended will be entered into the Medical Device Network Awards, which will be awarded at the end of the year.
ArthroFree eliminates the need for cables, allowing surgeons to move around untethered. Lazurite has raised more than $25 million from investors since 2015, according to a Dec. 7 press release.
In September, Laith Jazrawi, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at NYU Langone Health in New York City, performed the first procedure using ArthoFree.
