Canary Medical introduced a data analytic platform for orthopedics, the medtech company said Dec. 8.
The Canary Quantiles Recover Curves module uses data from Zimmer Biomet's Persona IQ smart knee implant, according to a news release. It compares a patient's activity levels and knee kinematics against data based on age group, gender and time since surgery.
"Using recovery curves, I’m seeing my patients more actively engaged in their surgical recovery," orthopedic surgeon John Dundon, MD, said in the release. "With this objective data, they can see and understand their own recovery trajectory as compared to other patients. If they are falling behind, we discuss ways they can potentially improve their recovery."
