Two orthopedic surgeons at Kirkland, Wash.-based EvergreenHealth have become the first in the state to offer the BEAR implant for torn ACL treatment, according to a Feb. 27 report from local news station KIRO 7.
Camille Clinton, MD, and John Manning, MD, became the first surgeons at Evergreen to perform the procedure, which allows the body to heal a torn ACL by using the patient's own blood.
Evergreen is one of 10 sites in the U.S. currently participating in an ongoing BEAR implant study.
