Robert Marx, MD, performed knee surgery on Christian Dvorak, a forward for the Montreal Canadiens in the National Hockey League, on March 15.
The surgery took place at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, according to a news release from the team.
Dr. Marx is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist at the Hospital for Special Surgery. He is the head consulting orthopedic surgeon for the UFC and a team physician for the New York Rangers, another NHL team.
Mr. Dvorak is out for the remainder of the season but is expected to make a full recovery for the start of next season, according to Canadiens' general manager Kent Hughes.
