Becker's reported on seven places adding the BEAR implant, which repairs the ACL using a patient's own blood, so far in 2023:
1. Robert Cunningham, MD, completed the first surgery in Colorado's Vail Valley with the Bridge-Enhanced ACL Restoration procedure.
2. Freehold, N.J.-based Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute has become the first practice in Monmouth County to debut the BEAR implant for treating ACL tears.
3. Pascagoula, Miss.-based Singing River Health System is the first in the state to offer the BEAR implant.
4. Two orthopedic surgeons at Kirkland, Wash.-based EvergreenHealth have become the first in the state to offer the BEAR implant.
5. Vero Orthopaedics in Vero Beach, Fla. added the BEAR implant in January.
6. Surgeons at Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center have performed the health system's first BEAR implant operation to reconstruct an injured knee ligament.
7. Mercy health system in O'Fallon, Mo. added the Bridge Enhanced ACL Repair procedure.
