Dr. Neal ElAttrache performs 2 elbow procedures on Philadelphia Phillies pitcher

Neal ElAttrache, MD, operated on Andrew Painter, a pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies, in Los Angeles on July 25, according to a July 25 report by CBS News Philadelphia.

Dr. ElAttrache performed an ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction and an ulnar nerve transposition surgery on Mr. Painter's right elbow. 

Mr. Painter suffered his ulnar lateral ligament during a spring training game in March.

The team said the expected recovery time for the procedures is 15 to 18 months. 

Dr. ElAttrache is the head team physician for the Dodgers, another MLB team, and Los Angeles Rams, the city's NFL franchise. He also serves as an orthopedic consultant to two NHL teams — the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks — as well as the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers.
