Neal ElAttrache, MD, performed reconstructive knee surgery on Nyheim Hines, a player for the Buffalo Bills, on Aug. 8.
The procedure was an anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, according to an Aug. 8 news release from NBC Sports.
Mr. Hines suffered the ACL tear during a jet skiing accident over the offseason.
The injury will cause Mr. Hines to miss the entirety of the upcoming NFL season, the report said.
Dr. ElAttrache is the head team physician for the Los Angeles Dodgers, an MLB team, and the Los Angeles Rams, the city's NFL franchise. He also serves as an orthopedic consultant to two NHL teams — the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks — as well as the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers.
