Scottish Rite for Children names new fellowship program director

Megan E. Johnson, MD, has been designated as the new program director for the Dorothy & Bryant Edwards Fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedics and Scoliosis at Dallas-based Scottish Rite for Children. The fellowship boasts almost 200 surgeon alumni and is among the nation's largest and longest-standing. 

As program director, Dr. Johnson is tasked with the recruitment, education and training of the next generation of clinicians and surgeons. To ensure the highest caliber educational curriculum, she will implement program evaluations and quality improvement initiatives as needed. 

Dr. Johnson joined Scottish Rite for Children in 2020 as a pediatric orthopedic surgeon with a focus on pediatric spine deformity and spina bifida. She is also the medical director of ambulatory care and serves as an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
