OrthoVentions invested in Gemini, a company created in partnership with Hospital for Special Surgery, according to an Oct. 31 news release.

Gemini is focused on developing MRI imaging and volumetric analysis products to create interactive views of joints. The investment will fund product development and an inital commercial launch.

Andy Pearle, MD, chief of sports medicine at New York City-based HSS co-founded Gemini.

"Gemini has the potential to reshape how we leverage musculoskeletal MRI images to assist in evaluating joint health, optimize surgical planning, and enhance patient engagement," he said in the release. "Our technology uses proprietary AI-based algorithms to deliver a real-time volumetric assessment of joint health and provide surgeons a critical 3D view of the joint. This fundamentally improves the efficiency and precision of the legacy MRI-imaging investments."
