Michael Ast, MD, of New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery was named chief medical officer of Ospitek, the medtech company said Nov. 2.
Dr. Ast has been a strategic advisor for the company and helped guide its strategic direction, according to a news release. As chief medical officer, he will help accelerate Ospitek's product development.
"By applying my experience in orthopedics and passion for innovation, I am excited to elevate our platform's capabilities, enhance surgical workflows, improve patient outcomes and set a global benchmark for excellence in surgical coordination," Dr. Ast said in the release.
Ospitek's VIEW platform leverages artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things to provide interoperable visualization and communication tools.
