3 orthopedic surgeons named to Nanovis' scientific advisory board

Nanovis, a creator of nanotechnology surface solutions for orthopedic, spine and dental applications, has created a scientific advisory board that includes three orthopedic surgeons. 

Here are the surgeons appointed to the board:

  • Lowry Barnes, MD, is the chair of the department of orthopedics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. He specializes in hip and knee replacements.  
  • Douglas Pahl, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon at Hughston Clinic in Columbus, Ga.
  • Brent Ponce, MD, is the chair of research at The Hughston Foundation in Columbus, Ga., and an orthopedic surgeon at Hughston Clinic. He specializes in shoulder, knee and sports medicine care.

The company plans to expand its advisory board with other specialists, including dental, trauma, foot and ankle and infectious disease specialists, in the coming months, the release said.
