Dr. Scott Rodeo operates on New York Giants quarterback

Scott Rodeo, MD, performed knee surgery on Daniel Jones, a quarterback for the New York Giants, at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

Mr. Jones suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during a game on Nov. 5, according to a Nov. 22 report by espn.com. 

The recovery time for the surgery is eight to 10 months, giving Mr. Jones the possibility of returning at the start of training camp for the 2024 NFL season. 

Mr. Jones waited 17 days after initially suffering the injury to allow the swelling to go down and strengthen the surrounding muscles. 

Dr. Rodeo is an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon at the Hospital for Special Surgery with a special interest in complex knee reconstruction. He is the head team physician for the Giants and has served as a team physician for the U.S. Olympic Team in 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016, according to the HSS website.
