1. George Russell, MD, was named chief of orthopedic trauma at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine’s department of orthopedic surgery.
2. Kamaljeet Banga, MD, joined the orthopedic team at Hamilton, N.Y.-based Community Memorial Hospital.
3. Christopher Dale, MD, joined the staff at Janesville, Wis.-based Mercyhealth East.
4. Douglas Turgeon, MD, will lead Jefferson, N.C.-based Ashe Memorial Hospital's newly opened Ashe Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine.
5. The International Society for Hip Arthroscopy elected John Christoforetti, MD, as its next vice president.
6. Cleveland Clinic London added orthopedic surgeons Paul Trikha, MD, and Sam Rajaratnam, MD.
7. R. Stephen Otte, MD, will serve as an on-site orthopedic physician for the upcoming PGA World Champions Cup in Bradenton, Fla.
8. Ben Smith, DO, was named medical director of the newly opened Bozeman (Mont.) Health Spine + Joint Institute.
9. North Conway, N.H.-based Memorial Hospital's orthopedics and sports medicine practice added Joshua Knowles, DO, and Gregory Galvin, DO.
10. Randolph, Vt.-based Gifford Health Care added Douglass Weiss, MD, to its team of orthopedic surgeons.
11. Healthcare software developer Ospitek added Mihir Patel, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at OrthoIndy in Indianapolis, as its chief visionary officer.
12. James Andrews, MD, will retire from his role as Auburn (Ala.) University football's orthopedic surgeon and medical director at the end of the school's football season.
13. Rockport, Maine-based Pen Bay Medical Center added Minal Cordeiro, MD, to its team.
