Northern Montana Hospital in Havre added smart knee replacements with Zimmer Biomet's Persona IQ device, according to a Dec. 12 news release in the Havre Daily News.
The implant has a sensor that measures a patient's range of motion, step count, walking speed and other gait metrics. Surgeons and patients can access the data through a HIPAA compliant platform to monitor recovery and care management.
Northern Montana Hospital is the first hospital in the state to offer Persona IQ, M. Benjamin Farr, MD, said in the release.
