Orthopedic surgeons are some of the least burnt out physician specialists, according to Medscape's 2024 "Physician Burnout and Depression Report," published Jan. 24.
About 44% of orthopedic surgeons report feeling burned out in 2024, down from 45% in 2023. Only five other specialties report feeling less burnt out than orthopedic surgeons, according to the report.
Some ways orthopedic surgeons go about managing burnout include maintaining balance, finding new hobbies, spending time with family and friends, and working out.
