Ivan Tornos has been CEO of Zimmer Biomet since August 2023.
Here are six things to know about him:
1. Mr. Tornos joined Zimmer Biomet in 2018 as group president of orthopedics. The next year he moved up as group president of global businesses and the Americas.
2. He was named COO in 2021 and oversaw all global businesses with the company.
3. Mr. Tornos replaced Bryan Hanson as CEO. Mr. Hanson left Zimmer Biomet to lead 3M's healthcare spinoff company.
4. Before joining Zimmer Biomet, Mr. Tornos worked at Becton, Dickinson and Company, C.R. Bard, Covidien International, Baxter International and Johnson and Johnson.
5. Mr. Tornos has a Bachelor of business administration from the University of Georgia Terry College of Business in Athens, and he graduated from Boston-based Harvard Business School's advanced management program.
6. Mr. Tornos is an independent member of PHC Holdings' board of directors.
