Pittsburgh-based UPMC opened a sports medicine clinic in Ireland in partnership with Mardyke Arena University College Cork.
UPMC Sports Medicine Clinic, Mardyke Arena, UCC expands the health system's reach in Ireland, where it has six locations, according to an April 17 news release from the health system. UPMC has had a presence in the country since 2006.
The new facility offers services including physical therapy, rehabilitation, concussion care and UPMC Institute for Health classes.
"The combination of research and medicine between two academic centers lends itself to developing new solutions and opportunities for people across Ireland, while working closely with the country's public health system to meet the needs of those utilizing that avenue of care," Joel Nelson, MD, president of UPMC International, said in the release.
