The first European surgeries using Stryker's Gamma4 Hip Fracture Nailing System have been completed in Lausanne, Switzerland, and Strasbourg, France.

The nailing system is designed to treat hip and femur fractures and its design is informed by Stryker's database, which includes 37,000 bone models from CT scans, according to a May 29 news release from the company.

The system was certified in November 2023 and has been used in more than 25,000 surgeries in North America and Japan.

The first procedures were completed by Frank Beeres, MD, Björn-Christian Link, MD, Marcel Köppel, MD, and Ralf Baumgärtner from the Luzerner Kantonsspital in Switzerland, Dr. Daniel Wagner and Dr. Kevin Moerenhout from the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois in Switzerland and Dr. Philippe Adam from the Les Hôpitaux Universitaires de Strasbourg in France.

Since the initial use cases were completed, more than 35 additional surgeries utilizing the Gamma4 system have been completed in France, Italy, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
