In May 2022, the National Football League launched a program to diversify the population of students interested in sports medicine and orthopedics, offering students from historically Black colleges and universities the opportunity to complete a clinical rotation with NFL clubs.
In 2022, the program worked with four colleges and universities. By 2023, it expanded to 19 medical school partners.
This year, the program will reach 21 medical schools and 29 NFL teams.
