Below are five orthopedic practices that have made headlines in the last month, as reported by Becker's since June 17.

EmergeOrtho (Durham, N.C). This Durham, N.C.-based orthopedic group recently partnered with the North Carolina Courage, the state's women's soccer team. EmergeOrtho is North Carolina's largest physician-owned orthopedic group with more than 60 outpatient clinics and nearly 160 physicians.
Genesis Orthopedic Center (Zanesville, Ohio). In June, Corey Jackson, MD, a surgeon at the Genesis Orthopedic Center, made headlines when he was the first surgeon to use the newest generation of ExactechGPS hardware and technology in a total knee replacement procedure. This practice, affiliated with Genesis Healthcare System in Zanesville, offers comprehensive orthopedic care including surgeries, imaging and physical and occupational therapy.
Gunnison (Colo.) Valley Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. Gloria Beim, MD, an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, will serve as Team USA's head physician for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Dr. Beim has treated U.S. athletes at three previous Olympic Games and four Paralympics. Gunnison Valley Orthopedics has two additional Colorado locations in Crested Butte and Telluride.
Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Orthopedic and Spine Center (West Nyack, N.Y.). This clinic opened in June and is the largest orthopedic physician practice in the county. Providers at this clinic offer surgery, minimally invasive spinal intervention, pain management, imaging services and physical rehabilitation programs.
University Orthopedics (Providence, R.I.). Brett Owens, MD, and Valentin Antoci, MD, two surgeons affiliated with this practice, were selected for local leadership roles. Dr. Owens was appointed division chief of sports medicine for the department of orthopedics at Lifespan and the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, both based in Providence, R.I., while Dr. Antoci will serve as division chief of arthroplasty of the department of orthopedics at Lifespan and the medical school. University Orthopedics is affiliated with Brown University's medical school and has more than 40 physicians.
