Philadelphia-based Rothman Orthopaedics partnered with the Hurt! orthopedic mobile application in its Florida market.
The application will offer Rothman's patients free access to orthopedic specialists around the clock, every day of the year, according to a July 15 news release.
With the Hurt! application, patients can send photos, videos and messages to orthopedic specialists 24/7 and receive an instant response. Orthopedists can then recommend follow-up care with network partners or a visit to the emergency room in urgent situations.
The app can accommodate injuries from tears or pops in the shoulder; elbow or wrist injuries that occur during regular daily movement; and pain and swelling around the knee or ankle after twisting, stepping wrong or falling.
