Cleveland Clinic has established a multiyear care agreement with North Canton, Ohio-based Walsh University.
As part of the five-year agreement, Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital Sports Medicine will be the preferred medical provider for Walsh's 27 intercollegiate sports and nearly 750 athletes, according to a July 29 news release from Cleveland Clinic.
The collaboration is effective Aug. 1 and builds on an existing partnership. Mercy Hospital Sports Medicine will deliver initial injury assessment, management and treatment, injury prevention education, and guidance on equipment and supplies to Walsh athletes.
Walsh students will also have access to the Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center, which is set to open in 2027, according to the release.
Cleveland Clinic also recently entered into a multiyear partnership with Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, in which the health system will serve as the official healthcare provider for student-athletes.
