Charlotte, N.C.-based OrthoCarolina has signed one of the nation’s top college football recruits, David Sanders.
Mr. Sanders is a former patient at OrthoCarolina, and hopes to one day become an orthopedic surgeon, according to an Aug. 20 press release sent to Becker's.
Mr. Sanders recently committed to play for the University of Tennessee. During his freshman year of high school, Mr. Sanders suffered a broken femur bone, which was repaired by OrthoCarolina’s Brian Scannell, MD, who specializes in pediatric orthopedics.
The sponsorship marks OrthoCarolina's first NIL partnership.
"My experience at OrthoCarolina was valuable not only because Dr. Scannell and the team’s expertise enabled me to quickly get back on the field and playing the game that I love, but it also introduced me to what I hope will be my future career path as an orthopedic surgeon," Mr. Sanders said in the release. "I am grateful for this NIL partnership opportunity and look forward to learning more from the OrthoCarolina team, both on and off the field."
