Dr. Chris Larson operates on Minnesota Vikings quarterback

Orthopedic

Chris Larson, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at Eagan, Minn.-based Twin Cities Orthopedics and head team physician for the Minnesota Vikings, has performed surgery on quarterback J.J. McCarthy.

Mr. McCarthy, a quarterback for the Vikings, will now be out for the entire 2024 NFL season after suffering a full meniscus tear, according to an Aug. 14 press release.

Mr. McCarthy played well in the Vikings first preseason game, but later reported soreness in his knee. After imaging, Dr. Larson performed a complete repair on Mr. McCarthy.

As a result of the injury, Sam Darnold is now the confirmed starting quarterback for the team, according to the release.
