Rothman Orthopaedics' newest surgeon: 7 things to know

Philadelphia-based Rothman Orthopaedics has added a new specialist, David Kugelman, MD, to its team, according to a Sept. 26 LinkedIn post

Here are seven things to know about the new addition: 

1. Dr. Kugelman is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hip and knee replacements. 

2. Dr. Kugelman attended medical school at Scranton, Pa.-based Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, which is one of the largest regional medical centers in the country, according to the post. 

3. Dr. Kugelman completed an orthopedic research internship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. 

4. Dr. Kugelman also completed an orthopedic trauma research fellowship at NYU Langone Health, where he completed his residency in orthopedic surgery. 

5. Dr. Kugelman completed his fellowship in complex adult reconstructive procedures of the hip and knee at Duke University Medical Center. 

6. Dr. Kugelman's clinical interests include partial and total knee replacement, total hip replacement, robotic joint replacement, complex primary joint replacement, total knee revisions, total hip revisions, joint infections, prosthetic infections, prosthetic fractures and lower extremity trauma. 

7. Dr. Kugelman is active in research, with over 40 peer-reviewed publications and numerous book chapters in his name.
