SEC football season: Who provides care for all 16 teams

As the 2024 to 2025 college football season begins, here are the physicians who provide orthopedic care for all 16 Southeastern Conference teams: 

Alabama Crimson Tide: Lyle Cain, MD, serves as team orthopedic surgeon for the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. He also practices at the Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Ala. 

Arkansas Razorbacks: Brad Reeves, MD, serves as head team orthopedic surgeon for the Razorbacks. He works as a sports medicine specialist at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. 

Auburn Tigers: Michael Goodlett, MD, serves as head team physician and chief medical officer for Auburn (Ala.) University Sports Medicine. Benton A. Emblom, MD, serves as head orthopedic surgeon for the team. 

Florida Gators: Katie Edenfield, MD, is a family medicine physician with a certification in sports medicine who serves as team physician for the Gators. She also works at University of Florida Health in Gainesville. 

Georgia Bulldogs: Timothy Griffith, MD, serves as a team physician for the University of Georgia Bulldogs in Athens. He is also a sports medicine specialist at Peachtree Orthopedics in Atlanta. 

Kentucky Wildcats: Darren Johnson, MD, serves as head team orthopedic surgeon for the Wildcats. He is also a practitioner at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in Lexington. 

Louisiana State UniversityTigers: The LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge, La., have five orthopedic surgeons, including Brent Bankston, MD, Chip Bankston, MD, Mark Field, MD, Wame Waggenspack, MD, and Carey Winder, MD.  

Mississippi State Bulldogs: Kenny McCollough, MD, serves as head team physician for the Bulldogs. 

Missouri Tigers: Jim Stannard, MD, serves as head team physician for the University of Missouri Tigers in Columbia. 

Oklahoma Sooners: Donald McGinnis, MD, has been working with the University of Oklahoma Sooners in Norman as head team physician for over 20 years. He is also a joint replacement and sports medicine specialist at McBride Orthopedic Hospital in Oklahoma City.  

Ole Miss Rebels: A team of physicians from Oxford Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine serve as official providers for the University of Mississippi Rebels in Oxford. 

South Carolina Gamecocks: Christopher Mazoué, MD, an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery and the treatment of complex shoulder, elbow and knee injuries at Prisma Health Orthopedics, serves as team physician for the University of South Carolina Gamecocks in Columbia. 

Tennessee Volunteers: Chris Klenck, MD, serves as head team physician for the University of Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville. Russell Betcher, MD, Robert Ivy, MD, and Matthew Rappe, MD, serve as orthopedic surgeons. 

Texas A&M University Aggies: J.P. Bramhall, MD, is the head team physician and orthopedic surgeon for the Aggies in College Station. Dr. Bramhall is in private practice at Central Texas Sports Medicine and Orthopedics.

Texas Longhorns: Allen Hardin, MD, serves as chief medical officer for the University of Texas Longhorns in Austin. 

Vanderbilt Commodores: Warne Fitch, MD, serves as head team physician for the Vanderbilt University Commodores in Nashville, Tenn.
