Jacob Calcei, MD, was named as medical advisor for Lazurite, the orthopedic company said Oct. 23.
Dr. Calcei is a sports medicine surgeon at University Hospitals Drusinsky Sports Institute in Beachwood, Ohio. In his role he will support Lazurite and its ArthroFree wireless camera system, according to a news release.
"We are excited to have Dr. Calcei join the Lazurite team," Eugene Malinskiy, CEO of Lazurite, said in the release. "His extensive experience in sports medicine, along with his dedication to research and innovation, aligns perfectly with our mission to enhance patient outcomes through innovative technology."
He earned his medical degree at New York University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Hospital for Special Surgery, both in New York City.
