Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Scott Nettrour dies at 86

McCandless, Pa.-based orthopedic surgeon Scott Nettrour, MD, has died at 86 from complications from Type 2 diabetes, according to a Dec. 1 obituary published in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

In addition to being a prominent practicing orthopedic surgeon for five decades, Dr. Nettrour notably worked as an expert witness, defending orthopedic surgeons from malpractice challenges in dozens of cases. 

Dr. Nettrour, along with his brother and father, co-founded the Tri Rivers Musculoskeletal Centers in Wexford, Pa., in the early 1970s.

The Nettrours' first practice location was located on the UPMC Passavant-McCandless campus.
