Peter Amadio, MD, is an orthopedic hand surgeon practicing at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. Additionally, Dr. Amadio is a professor of orthopedics and a professor of biomedical engineering.
He was the chair of the American Medical Association's Integrated Physician Practice Section Governing Council from 2012 to 2014. He was the chair of American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons' Research Development Committee from 2011 to 2014.
Dr. Amadio earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He completed an orthopedic residency through the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program at Harvard Medical School in Cambridge, Mass. Two years later, Dr. Amadio complete a surgical residency at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. Dr. Amadio completed his orthopedic research fellowship at Children's Hospital Medical Center in Boston.
