Dr. Thomas Fehring wins $500k OREF grant for arthroplasty infection prevention research: 4 notes

The Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation has awarded a $500,000 grant to Thomas K. Fehring, MD, for research on hip and knee arthroplasty infection prevention.

Here are four notes:

 

1. Dr. Fehring practices with the OrthoCarolina Hip and Knee Center and OrthoCarolina Research Institute, both in Charlotte, N.C.

 

2. The three-year OREF Clinical Research Grant in Hip and Knee Arthroplasty Infection grants provides funding for clinical research.

 

3. It is the first grant awarded under OREF's unique collaborative research agenda program.

 

4. It was designed and funded in collaboration with the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, Hip Society, Knee Society, Zimmer Biomet and DePuy Synthes Joint Reconstruction.
