Orthopedic surgeon Warren Ayers, MD, is joining the staff of Maui (Hawaii) Memorial Medical Center, MauiNow.com reports.

1. Dr. Ayers is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon.
2. His career began after he earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He completed a residency at the U.S. Naval Hospital in San Diego, before serving several appointments in active duty.
3. Dr. Ayers became the head of orthopedics at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Okinawa, Japan.
