Here are nine orthopedic surgeons who made this week's headlines:

Mark Ciota, MD, was featured for his juggling act as an orthopedic surgeon and hospital CEO of Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea, Minn.

 

State Rep. Gregory F. Murphy, MD, (R-9) co-sponsored a North Carolina bill authorizing parents to decide when their child would be allowed to return to play following a potential concussion without approval from a medical professional.

 

Orthopedic surgeon and hand specialist Michelle G. Carlson, MD, of New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery performed surgery on Toronto Raptors' guard Kyle Lowry's wrist.
