Scranton, Pa.-based Geisinger Community Medical Center welcomed orthopedic trauma surgeon Brian Campfield, MD, to its practice, according to Times Leader.
Here are five things to know:
1. Dr. Campfield specializes in traumatic orthopedic injuries, pelvic and acetabular fractures, complex fractures and reconstruction of the extremities.
2. Dr. Campfield offers surgical fracture care for patients in the hospital's Level II trauma center.
3. He also treats limb deformities, infections, acute traumatic orthopedic conditions and late reconstruction.
4. Dr. Campfield served as a team physician for Stony Brook (N.Y.) University's hockey team.
5. A graduate of Philadelphia-based Temple University School of Medicine, Dr. Campfield completed an orthopedic surgical residency at Stony Brook University Medical Center and an orthopedic trauma fellowship at Columbia-based University of Missouri.
