Darren Barton, DO, joined Knoxville-based Covenant Health's Cumberland Medical Center and Cumberland Orthopedics in Crossville, Tenn.
Dr. Barton has a special interest in general orthopedic care, foot and ankle injuries and shoulder and knee replacements. He earned his doctor of osteopathic medicine at Harrogate, Tenn.-based DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed the Kingsport, Tenn.-based Wellmont Orthopedic Residency Program.
Dr. Barton's additional training includes a sports medicine fellowship at Columbus, Ga.-based Hughston Clinic, where he won the Hughston Fellowship Award for a presentation titled "Subpectoral Biceps Tenodesis: Does Location Matter? An Evaluation of Clinical Outcomes." He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
He joins more than 1,500 physicians affiliated with Covenant Health, a nonprofit, community-owned health system.
