Dallas-based Medical City Children's Hospital named Shyam Kishan, MD, medical director of pediatric orthopedics and pediatric orthopedic trauma.
Here are four things to know:
1. Dr. Kishan is a board certified orthopedic surgeon who will lead the pediatric orthopedic team in treating a wide variety of conditions including trauma, infections, tumors, limb and spinal deformities.
2. Before coming to MCCH, Dr. Kishan served as associate professor of pediatric orthopedics at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, where he spearheaded the launch of a pediatric spinal deformity treatment regional center.
3. Dr. Kishan received his medical degree at Madras University in Tamil Nadu, India. He completed orthopedic residencies at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital in Bombay and the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark. He underwent fellowship training in pediatric orthopedic surgery and scoliosis at San Diego-based Rady Children's Hospital.
4. Dr. Kishan is fluent in English, French, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Malayalam and Tamil.
