Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Leonid Dabuzhsky joins Carney Hospital, offers cutting-edge TKR: 3 things to know

Orthopedic

Orthopedic surgeon Leonid Dabuzhsky, MD, will join the Center for Orthopedics & Joint Replacement at Carney Hospital in Dorchester, Mass. Dr. Dabuzhsky's addition also makes Carney the only hospital in the region to offer the OMNIBotics robotic-assisted total knee replacement procedure to patients.

Here are three things to know.

1. The OMNIBotics procedure uses advanced software and instrumentation to tailor each procedure to the patient's unique anatomy to optimize implant fit and alignment. The surgeon maintains control throughout the process.

2. OMNIBotics is designed to allow for a less invasive surgical technique compared to traditional TKR, which may promote a quicker recovery.

3. Dr. Dabuzhsky is a board certified orthopedic surgeon. He received his medical degree from Russian State Medical University in Moscow. He has previously practiced at Carney Hospital and other area institutions.
