Orthopedic surgeon to know: Dr. Daniel S. Lamar of Coastal Orthopedics

Daniel S. Lamar, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Bradenton, Fla.-based Coastal Orthopedics.

Dr. Lamar specializes in sports medicine and serves as an assistant medical professor at the Tampa, Fla.-based University of South Florida College of Medicine.

Serving as the Tennessee Titans' lead orthopedic consultant, Dr. Lamar evaluated athletes' muscular skeletal systems at the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine. Titans staff took the evaluation into consideration when deciding which players to select.

Dr. Lamar also serves as the sports medicine physician and orthopedic consultant for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Baltimore Orioles, U.S. Soccer, IMG Academy and Premier Sports Campus. He volunteers as the sideline physician for local high schools.

Dr. Lamar earned his medical degree at University of South Florida College of Medicine and completed residencies at Philadelphia-based University of Pennsylvania Hospital and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He continued his postgraduate training with a fellowship at University of Miami (Fla.).
