Alexander C. Gordon, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Illinois Bone & Joint Institute in Des Plaines and Morton Grove.
Dr. Gordon serves as a clinical assistant orthopedics professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago. He was named site director for the University of Illinois orthopedic residency program at Skokie (Ill.) Hospital and is a member of the quality and education program committees at Evanston, Ill.-based NorthShore University Health Systems.
The University of Illinois-Chicago Orthopaedic Alumni Association awarded Dr. Gordon the Leo Weinstein Award for Excellence in Patient Care in 2003. He won first prize in the American College of Surgeons Chicago Committee's Resident Paper Competition in 2001.
Dr. Gordon's current work involves developing new sensor-guided knee replacement technology and collaborating with other researchers to optimize surgery using the device.
Dr. Gordon earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois-Chicago. He completed an internship and residency at the University of Illinois-Chicago Hospital and was fellowship trained at the La Jolla, Calif.-based Scripps Clinic.
