Michael A. Mont, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Great Neck, N.Y.-based Northwell Health.
Dr. Mont became Northwell Health's vice president of strategic initiatives in orthopedic surgery, joint reconstruction system chief and attending orthopedic surgeon at New York City-based Lenox Hill Hospital in April.
In practice for more than 30 years, Dr. Mont previously served as Cleveland Clinic's orthopedics chair. His clinical interests include primary and complex total hip and knee replacements, hip and knee joint preservation, knee arthroscopy and cartilage preservation and restoration.
In 2000, Dr. Mont co-founded The Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopaedics in Baltimore, where he became director of The Center of Joint Preservation and Reconstruction.
He has served on the editorial boards or as a reviewer for several publications, including the Journal of Arthroplasty and Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.
Dr. Mont attended the Philadelphia-based University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed a residency and fellowship at New York City-based Mount Sinai Hospital and Medical Center, and an additional fellowship at Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
