Orthopedic surgeons at Ridgewood, N.J.-based Valley Hospital are using Stryker's MAKO robotic-arm assisted surgical system.
Here are three things to know:
1. The surgeons are using MAKO to assist with partial knee, total knee and hip replacement surgeries.
2. MAKO is designed to create personalized surgical plans by identifying implant size, orientation and alignment based on the patient's physiology.
3. The hospital's first surgery with the robotic-assisted system was completed in August by Director of Orthopedic Surgery Anthony Delfico, MD.
