Vonda Wright, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Northside Hospital Sports Medicine Network in Atlanta.
With expertise in sports medicine, Dr. Wright serves as chief of the hospital's sports medicine program.
Dr. Wright's additional specialties include minimally invasive and arthroscopic shoulder, hip and knee surgery. She is also an internationally recognized author on active aging and mobility.
In 2013, Dr. Wright launched the Women's Health Conversations movement, which helps support women who aim to transform global healthcare. The movement includes live events and an online community of more than 6 million digital exposures.
Dr. Wright received the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America's Women of Distinction Award in 2017.
A fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Dr. Wright is also a member of the American Osteopathic Association and Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society.
After earning her medical degree from the University of Chicago School of Medicine, Dr. Wright completed her residency as well as a stem cell research fellowship at UPMC. She then underwent additional fellowship training in sports medicine and upper extremity surgery at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
