Board-certified orthopedic surgeon Patrick J. Maloney, MD, is now offering minimally invasive bunion surgery.

Here are three things to know:

1. Dr. Maloney and board-certified orthopedic surgeon Rebecca A. Cerrato, MD, offer this treatment at The Institute for Foot and Ankle Reconstruction at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore.

2. According to Dr. Cerrato, minimally invasive bunionectomy can lead to less postoperative pain, quicker recovery and less big toe stiffness and scarring compared to traditional bunion surgery.
